Essay

Object is unsteady viscous separated flows in radial-axial turbomachinery flowpaths. Objective is development of numerical model of gasdynamic processes in different type turbomachinery flowpaths as well as definition of lines of their further aerodynamic improvement basing on rational organisation of three-dimensional unsteady flow pattern. Approaches are mathematical simulation, computational fluid dynamics, numerical experiment. Novelty consists in development of efficient and accurate numerical model of computation of three-dimensional unsteady viscous flows through turbomachinery flowpaths. Practical results are that the investigation results, discovered mechanisms and drawn generalizations could be used for design and modernisation of turbomachinery flowpaths. Efficiency of application consists in that the use of developed numerical model by a number of enterprises decreases time of design and modernisation of turbomachinery flowpaths. Field of application is power engineering industry.
