The object - functioning of banking system in Ukraine within investment area of transitive economy; the aim - development of methodological principles for present Ukrainian investment market, specifically definition of place and role of banks, likewise of concrete mechanisms, forms and methods for investment activity stimulation; the methods - analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, economic, mathematical, and statistical methods; results - subsequent development of strategy of bank investment activity, determination of bank investment portfolio substance; innovation - new interpretation suggested for the definitions of “bank investments”, “ investment credit solvency of an enterprise-borrower”; introduced - into practice of National Bank of Ukraine, and commercial banks throughout Ukraine; sphere - banking system.
