Essay

The thesis is devoted to investigation of principles and generating mechanism of physical and geographical environmental anomalies over the Atlantic-European region associated with large-scale processes in the coupled ocean-atmosphere system in the North Atlantic and Pacific ocean; revelation of interconnection between main global climatic signals and natural hazards; subsequent utilization of the obtained results for some practical decisions and policy making. It was shown for the first time that about 70% of recent interannual-to-decadal fluctuations of Atlantic- European climatic anomalies are as a result of the processes in the large-scale interactive system: North Atlantic oscillation-El-Nino-Southern oscillation - Pacific Decadal oscillation.
