Galaychuk I. Skin melanoma: optimization of diagnosis and combined and complex treatment of the patients

Dissertation is dedicated to new methodical approaches and technologies for the optimization of the diagnosis, prognostication and ways of surgical operations, combined and complex treatment, which have been worked out and introduced into clinical practice. The diagnostic significance of pre-surgery fluorescent in vivo dermatoscopy of superficial spreading melanomas and pigmented nevi has been justified. The efficiency of applying intensive methods of neoadjuvant chemo- and radiation therapy in the combination with surgical operations in the patients with localized and regional metastatic melanoma has been proved. The differentiated approach to surgical operations in the area of regional lymph drainage has been validated on the base of modern ultrasound technologies. The immediate connection between the wound size, the character of its healing, methods of plastic surgery and local treatment, and the development of local-regional recurrences of melanoma has been discovered.
