Essay

The thesis presents theoretical generalization and the new solution to the scientific problem of estimation of real opportunities of water quality management for marine shelf ecosystems subject to heavy anthropogenic loading on the basis of analysis of the long-term ecological data monitoring and results of numerical mathematical modeling. A state-of-the-art ecosystem analysis on the basis of monitoring data was for the first time ever made for the marine basin of Colombian Coast of the Caribbean Sea. New information on regime hydrochemical characteristics of the Odessa area in the north-western part of the Black Sea as well as their relation to river flows, hydrological conditions and phenomena and operation of anthropogenic sources of contamination in the littoral area is provided. Environmental consequences of anthropogenic impact on ecosystems of the investigated marine water areas are described.
