The subject of inquiry – the process of sediment deformation and fluid filtration through its pore space; the purpose – the intensification of process of dewatering of products of concen-tration; the methods – analytical, experimental, statistical; the novelty – the compressive and consolidation parameters of sediments of products of coal concentration are first deter-mined under their deformation by normal and shear tensions; it is first established that shear strain fields cause the decompres-sion of overconsolidated sediment, its decompression degree increasing at raising of sediment density, decreasing of normal pressure magnitude and increasing of shear rate; the results – the new method of dewatering of products of concentration in the shear strain field and procedure of substantiation of rational parameters of dewatering of fine coal-containing sediments by mechanical methods are elaborated which are applied in indus-try and in leading branch institutes; the branch – mining indus-try
