Essay

Object - zinc sulphide and zinc selenide crystals with defects of structure. Subject - dislocations and other defects which determine of structure and properties of observed crystals; effects which bind of immovable dislocations electrical activities. Purpose - Determine of movable patrial dislocation's role in phase changes in the crystals of ZnS, ZnSe. Study of the physical properties changes of the crystals, which depend from electric activities of immovable dislocations. Methods - ESR-spectroscopy, photoluminescence. It was determined that the forming of a zinc sulphide crystal structure takes place as a result of martensite conversions. An unknown type of defects for A2B6 compounds was found in zinc selenide crystals. These are tetrahedrons of stacking faults. An effect of an anomalous rise, stimulated by plastic deformation, in electrical conductivity of ZnS and ZnSe was observed and researched. It had been proved that a shift in growth dislocations in Cottrell's atmospheres causes a rise of their electrical activity. This explains the nature of different properties of zinc sulphide crystals, observed in the region of small deformations. One of the mechanisms for degradation of electroluminescence properties of the studied materials was proposed. A fact of a rise in an electric charge of immovable dislocations, which occurs when an electronic subsystem of zinc sulphide is being excited, was also determined.
