Karpenko Y. Electrophysiologycal mechanisms, clinic, diagnostic, surgical and nonpharmacologycal treatment of atrial flutter

The dissertation devoted improvement of diagnostics, results of pharmacological and nonpharmacological (temporal pacing, permanent pacing, electrical cardioversion, catheter radiofrequency ablation) treatment of patients with the different forms of atrial flutter. 628 patients were investigated with the different variants of AFL. The electro-physiological variants were certain for 439 (69%) patients: typical form - 92.4%, atypical - in 7.6% cases. The anatomic and electro-physiological features of paroxysmal and persistent forms of atrial flutter were shown. The reliable improvement of contractile ability of myocardium and quality of life are shown after the treatment of atrial flutter by the method of catheter radiofrequency ablation.
