Essay

The Thesis Study presents a complex theory of the institutional communicative space in Germany during the period between the last third of the XIX th century and the beginning of the XXI th century. The study was completed within the frames of the interdisciplinary communicative-and-functional methodology that is founded on an action-like approach to studying cultural-and-linguistic phenomena. The Thesis Study is grounded on the up-to-date attainments in the field of communicative as well as cognitive-and-pragmatic studies. By applying methods of the discourse modelling, conceptual and frame analyses (in addition to the linguistic-and-pragmatic as well as genre analysis methods), there have been identified the communicative and cognitive peculiarities of the institutional communicative space (special language in economics), as well as the pragmalinguistic nature of communicative strategies and tactics of the economic institutions in Germany and mass-media disseminating economic news. The Thesis Study has proved the initial hypothesis: a principally new type of the institutional communicative space was shaped during the globalization period (beginning from the 80's of the 20th century) - this type is both a voluminous socio-cultural medium for production, restoration, support and development of new linguistic and cultural, as well as informational-and-technological forms of communication existence in the economic sphere, and a medium for establishing new kinds of the linguistic-and-cultural identity of the linguistic personality of a contemporary German economist.
