Essay

The thesis is devoted to the currently important problem of gas/dust explosion prevention and localization, and its solving in terms of theory development and prac-tice improvement. Methodology has been developed, and patterns have been determined, as to en-vironment explosion hazard formation at coal mines; also methodology has been de-veloped as to identifying technogenic zones in rock mass, and a relation has been shown between gas-dynamic events and negative manifestations of rock pressure, on the one hand, and technogenic zones, on the other hand. There have been detected two previously unknown phenomena classified as sci-entific discoveries: 1) occurrence of rock-mass technogenic zones in sections with rock inclination variations, which involves the following: when sections with rock in-clination variations sustain some impact, rock stress redistribution takes place, which leads to abnormal manifestations of rock pressure; and 2) analytic connection be-tween accident probability at industrial entities and their ergatic character, which consists in the following: accident probability is determined by the correlation of their ergatic integrity as a "man - machine - environment" system and a combination of nonfunctional dependencies characterizing an industrial entity.
