Kiyan O. Volodimir Antonovich as a historian and founder of Kyiv historical school in the Ukrainian historiography of the second half of XIX century - beginning of XX century.

Complex research of Volodimir Antonovich's historical and scientific heredity as one of creators of national democratic conception of the history of Ukraine and his activity in the process of foundation of Kyiv Historical School in the context of development of national historiography is carried out. On the basis of analysis of Antonovich's ideological and methodological principles of his historical activity the process of transition from romanticism to positivism in the Ukrainian historiography of the second half of XIX century is demonstrated. The part of Antonovich in the foundation of Ukrainian historiography, nationology, conception of the history of Ukraine is grounded. On the basic of functional logical linguistic model "scientific school in historiography", which is worked out by the author, the main ideological, political and methodological principles of foundation of Antonovich's Kyiv Historical School and stages of its scientific evolution and role in the national slavonic historiography aredetermined.
