Yablon O. Optimization of the treatment and care for the newborns with very low birth weight.

The area under discussion in the dissertation covers improvement in the effectiveness of the medical treatment and care for the newborns with very low birth weight based on a study of the mechanisms of pathology development as well as design and implementation of a new know-how in the newborn care and innovate approaches to forecasting and prevention of the negative short- and long-term impacts of the pathology. Research demonstrates incidence of births, survival rate, specifics of neonatal diseases and illnesses, and incidence of deaths for the newborns with very low birth weight, and factors that impact these processes. Author has proven clinical effectiveness of the introduced methods of newborn care, namely, protection of newborns from harmful environmental factors (bright light, noise, and excessive contact) up to thirty-two weeks of post-conception age by incubator screening and physiological positioning in the positioning in the "nest"; after thirty-two weeks of post-conception age, use of tactile, sound and emotional stimulation. Author also established criteria for providing a correct prognosis of the short- and long-term impact of the perinatal pathology.
