Essay

Geochemical-mineralogical and genetic conditions of localization of Cu ores in the Volhyn, Cu and Au-Ag-Pb-Zn deposits of the Donbas (Ukraine), and the Lubin-Sieroszowice Cu-Ag deposit (Fore-Sudetian, Poland) were investigated. A major accumulation of native copper ores in the Volhynian trapps occurred of magmatogenic hydrothermal waters. Three ore-forming hydrothermal stages formed Pb-Zn-Ag-Au ores in the Nagolny chain of hills at around 205 mln. y. ago. Au accumulation was fixed by the superimposing of galena-bearing aggregates on sulfide aggregates of the pyrite-arsenopyrite stage. Formation of the stratabound Cu ore bodies of the North-Western Donbas and Fore-Sudetian was multiphase. Pb-Zn ores were accumulated on calcareous barriers. The rich Cu ores were formed during oxidative hypergene processes, which led to mobilization and redistribution of metals in the ore bodies.
