Essay

The object is popular and developed stainless steels of different alloying systems, structural classes and functional designation. The purpose is the creation of theoretical-applied management basis of structure and properties of economical stainless steels and the application of progressive processing techniques to rise their technological and service properties. The methods – optical and electron microscopy, quantitative X-ray structure phase analysis, magnetometric, dilatometric, durometric methods. Theoretical generalizations and experimental investigations in conformities to form the high-chromium phase in alloys of different alloying and functional designation enabling to develop general principles and control modes of their structurization processes in various stages of metallurgical redistribution are the results of research. Theoretical propositions of multicomponent alloying system and microalloying stainless steels developed and formulated are the novelty of research. The methods of their thermal and deformation-thermal treatment are developed. The mechanisms of chromium-nickel steels failure being exposed to temperature when mechanical and harmful environment are found. The developments are standardized and implemented in production. Metallurgy, mechanical engineering are the area of application.
