Kordiyak A. Clinical peculiarities, treatment and prevention of local and general disorders due to the use of metal alloy-based dental prostheses

The research has focused on the systemic clinico-laboratory, experimental-technologic and expert-analytical investigation of the problems concerned with the complications due to dental prostheses constructed with metal-based alloys (DP-M).Patients' anamneses were studied in compliance with the problem-oriented scheme, and objective part of the research was supplied by the data on the types of denture constructions and components of metal alloys in DP-M, indeces of their clinico-technological quality and applicability for prosthetic treatment, and by the data of metallographic, toxico-hygienic and biological tests. The research has shown that expert system DentExp is expedient to be employed for the assessment of dental patients' health status in the form of medico-statistical, direct initial and final (verified) diagnoses for the 6 kinds of disorders and 12 similar nosological forms. Character of disorders (local/general) and kind of disorders (galvano-inflammatory, occlusive, galvano-toxic, galvano-allergic, galvano-reflexogenic, and adaptational) were determined to depend upon the type and intensity of the organism response to the stimuli caused by the use of DP-M and proposed to be included into subclass T88.8 Class XIX of ICD-10.
