Vainberg A. Natural Factors Effect on Reliability and Safety of Hydraulic Structures.

Within the bounds of the theory of reliability of compound technological systems, and based on the probabilistic analysis, investigated is effect of main natural factors on reliability and safety of hydraulic structures. Proposed are new approaches which make it possible to enhance existing methods as well as develop new ones to solve probabilistic problems within the bounds of the parametric and system theory of reliability. Developed is а biexponential distribution law for implementation of calculations on assessment of hydrological characteristics. Solved is а number of problems on determination of the failure risk for different types of hydraulic structures. Within the bounds of the system theory of reliability, based on the Monte Carlo method, proposed is а technique to solve а problem of risk determination of an emergency situation at а hydro scheme, in relation to the risk of retaining structures breaking.
