Essay

The dissertation presents the result of the complex study of creating and functioning of Ukrainian political emigration archival centers in European countries (Poland, Czechoslovakia, France and Austria) during the interwar period, reveals the process of their completing and storing archival holdings. It is reconstructed the contents of documental collections of the Ukrainian National Museum-Archives, Ukrainian Historical Study and Museum of Ukrainian Liberation Struggle in Prague, S.Petlura Ukrainian Library in Paris, a branch of National Museum in Vienne. It is analyzed the circumstances and ways of transferring Ukrainian emigration collections during the World War II and post-war period, ways of restricting access to them, processing and using them for operational purposes. The author also highlights the influence of emigre's materials as a source for scientific studies of modern Ukrainian history.
