The problem of reception of Mykhailo Hrushevsky's creative heritage by his contemporaries is analyzed in the dissertation. The historiographic reflection of early works of scholar is investigated. The scale of appeals to the creative, scientific and organizational activity of M.Hrushevski of the Lviv period is showed. The peculiarities of reflection on Hrushevski studies during the war and revolution are described. The problem of reception of the academic activity at the time of emigration is studied. The multi-faceted publications devoted to perception in scientific and publicist literature of Hrushevski activity at the soviet decade are examined. The after death Hrushevskiana is analyzed. It is argued that ideological and political processes in Europe at the end of 19th - 1930th had an influence on the appraisal of scholar's heritage by his contemporaries.
