Bezugla L. Cognitive-Pragmatic Characteristics of Implicit Meanings in German Discourse

This paper presents a study of cognitive-pragmatic and linguistic characteristics and language aspects of speech act implicit meanings verbalized in the modern German dialogical discourse by way of developing and implementing a new cognitive-pragmatic implicit speech act model. The nature of speech act implicit meanings is viewed as a complex of cognitive (discursive implication), pragmatic (implicit speech acts) and linguistic (verbal markers of implicit meaning) aspects. These meanings are intended, that is, the speaker's communicative intention presupposes the presence of a perlocutionary goal to render the implicit meaning to the hearer. The sphere of implicit meanings functioning is the indirect discourse. Discursive implication is a cognitive-pragmatic category differently represented in discuscive realization of implicit speech acts; the latter constitute a cognitive-pragmatic field. The dominant components of this field are poly-implicative speech acts, the nuclear components are mono-implicative speech acts, while the periphery is formed by conventionalized speech acts.
