Essay

Object - generalized forms of pseudotuberculosis and yersiniosis at sporadic morbidity and epidemic outbreaks. Purpose - on the basis of investigation of clinical picture, the immune status, indices of metabolic activity of leukocytes and parameters of prooxidant- antioxidant homeostasis of generalized forms of yersiniosis and pseudotuberculosis to optimize their diagnostics, prognostication, efficiency of etiotropic and pathogenetic therapy. Methods - common clinical, epidemiological, bacteriological, serological, cytochemical, immunological, biochemical, statistical. Novelty - there has been presented a comparative characteristic of clinical manifestations of generalized forms of pseudotuberculosis and yersiniosis: features of epidemiology in the conditions of industrial region of South-East Ukraine were studied during the outbreak- type and sporadic distribution of diseases in adults, possibility of occurrence of waterborne outbreak of yersiniosis was proved, for the first time the changes in the system of prooxidant- antioxidant homeostasis and content of free sulfhydryl groups were studied and their prognostic significance was shown; on the basis of comprehensive examination of patients the immune system in generalized forms of yersiniosis and pseudotuberculosis was studied. Results - there have been elaborated the methodical recommendations regarding the clinical and laboratory diagnostics of generalized forms of pseudotuberculosis and yersiniosis, proposed were the eriteria for appraisal of severity, prognostication of relapses, it has been optimized the etiotropic and pathogenetic therapy of these diseases. It has been introduced into practice of regional, municipal infectious hospitals in the cities of Zaporizhya, Sumy, Mikolaiyv, Kherson, Odesa, Simferopol, Kostyantynivka, Donetsk, Mariupol, Makiyivka, Gorlivka as well as in the training process of the chairs for infectious diseases at Donetsk National University of Medicine, Odesa, Ternopil, Zaporizhya and Crimean State Medical Universities.
