Essay

Characteristics of postinfarction cardiac remodeling in 450 patients with myocardial infarction, COPD and arterial hypertension were studied and characterized by progressive dilatation of cardiac chambers, interventricular septum thinning, impaired myocardial function and pathologic cardiac geometry. Differential optimized approach to management of postinfarction cardiac patients with concomitant diseases has been proposed, permitting to decrease lethality and to improve long-term survival.
