Essay

The dissertation is devoted to treatments of Ukraine and of specifically Ukrainian plots in a historiography of Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth XVIth - the middle of XVIIth centuries. It is accented on the Renaissance nature of this historiography and its value for all Native (Ukrainian) historiographic process. In the center of attention of research evolution of Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth Ukrainian Studies, genealogy of ideas and concepts, and also real opportunities of their distribution. Are analyzed little-known to the Ukrainian scientific community of the composition (or their fragments) by J.L.Detsij, N.Rej, J.A.Krasinsky, M.Kromer, S.Sarnitsky, S.Orzhelsky, R.Gejdenshtejn, I.Belsky, B.Paprotsky, S.Ljubensky, J.I.Petritsii, J.Sobesky, S.Starovolsky, P.Pjasetsky, A.M.Fredro, etc. Representations of Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth historians about geography and the historical past of Ukraine, about struggle against the Turkish and Tatar threat in a Ukrainian part of Great border of the Christian Europe, and also about a phenomenon of a Ukrainian Cossack are mainly researched.
