Essay

The dissertation presents theoretical generalised and new decisions of an urgent scientific and technical problem concerning the development of wind loads calculation techniques on tall buildings and surrounding town development taking into account the geometry of buildings, surrounding laying surface, built-up area, the peculiarities of meteorological situation, leeward waves formation and connected with it interference effects of wave formation, where the amplitude of resulting waves could intensify or weaken, which leads to the corresponding changes of wind pressure on the surfaces and structures of buildings and constructions. The engineering method of estimation additional wave wind loads on tall buildings, suggested in the thesis, takes into account interference phenomena of air environments. There were given characteristics of leeward waves depending on atmospheric conditions and the size of wave formation source, geometry of the area of sufficient wave loads and amplifying fluctuation. The transmission of energy by leeward waves was estimated due to the effects of dissipation and damping; also there was shown the dependence of additional resistance of wave character on upwind flow, using as an example the streamlining of a cylinder. The result of research were implemented into design, building and reconstructing of buildings, structures and built-up areas, they are also included in theoretical courses for civil engineering students.
