Essay

The object of the research is processes of interaction of elec-tromagnetic waves with systems of scatterers and media. The purpose of the research: Development of the theory of multiple scattering effects, including effect of weak localization; studying of a role of the near field in formation of characteristics of scatter-ing; application of results of research in astrophysics. Methods of research: Analytical and numerical methods of determination of scattering matrix elements. New theoretical and practical results: The equation describing the weak localization effect for a plane-parallel layer of the random medium of arbitrary scatterers at an arbitrary angle of incident radiation on the medium is received for the first time and dependence of the effect on properties of me-dium scatterers is investigated. The near field effects are investi-gated and their significant influence on characteristics of scattered radiation is established. A new mechanism of formation of the opposition effects is proposed. Vector radiative transfer equation and an equation for the description of weak localization in the case of densely packed media are received. The field of applica-tion: Heliophysics and solar system physics, geophysics and so-lar-terrestrial relationship.
