Romanenko I. The pathogenesis, clinical course and treatment of-glandular and angular of cheilitis in patients with diabe-tes mellitus.

The dissertation is devoted to increasing of effictiveness in therapy of cheilites, both independent and those combined with diabetes mellitus of type 1 and type 2 based on the development of new approaches towards pathogenetically directed pharmacol-ogical correction of the revealed disturbances in immune and hemocoagulating homeostasis. On the basis of epidemiological stadies the high prevalence of red lip adge diseases has been found out, especially angular cheilitis, glandular cheilitis and glandular cheilitis with eczematization. There have been ana-lyzed the possible causes resulting in the development of chronic inflammatory process in the tissues of lips in diabetic patients as well as the mechanisms of the develompent of the clinical mani-festations. A new variant of the clinical course of glandular cheilitis, namaly glandular cheilitis with eczematization has been detected as well. We have developed new schemes of pathogene-sis of the cheilitis forms. The topical application of thymalinum is recommended. The new approach in therapy of red lip edge lesions has resulted in the increasing of therapeutic effectiveness and preventing the relapses in 78,6 - 93,3% of patients.
