Essay

Subject of research - winter cereal crop productivity formation and restoring soil fertility in grain-fallow rotations of the Ukrainian southern Steppe. The aim - the scientific ground of the introduction of intensive short-term grain-fallow and grain rotations; working out measures of soil fertility preservation and stabilization by means of the determination of rational practices of its tillage. The methods are field, laboratory, measuring and weight, computational, mathematical and statistical. The scientific basis of the introduction of green manured fallow and nonmoldboard shallow basic soil cultivation is developed and substantiated what secures the structural prorerty improvement and humus supply self-recovery in the southern chernozems, optimal sowing terms of new winter wheat varieties in the southern Steppe are determined; a complex of the winter cereal crop growing technology components is worked out what ensures getting 5.8 t/ha winter kernel of the first-second class. The research results are introduced during 2003-2008 at the farm of the Odesa region over an area 220 thou. ha. The field of application - the agricultural production.
