Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of the peculiarities of the Soviet State politicy as to the existing religions in the western regions of Ukraine. On the basis of the archival sources and the existant historiography the forms and methods of the state policy concerning religion, the religions’ response on the policy towards it and the results of this policy have been analysed. Tho peculiarities of the development of the existing religions and their confessions in the region as structure, trends, problems, transformations etc have been investigated.
