The thesis investigates the constitutional legal status of the constitutional system in Ukraine and its role in formation and development of the local self-government. There has been suggested the comprehensive description of such notions as the constitutional system, its legal basis within the Constitution of Ukraine and its foundation principles. There has been analyzed the Declaration of the State Sovereignty and its role in the formation of Ukraine as a legal, democratic, social, sovereign and independent state; the dissertation also focuses upon the partition of sovereignty as the Constitutional system fundamental principle.
