Essay

Research Object: the cooled elements of high-temperature gas turbines. Research purposes: improving the gas turbines cooling systems through the development of methods for thermal analysis, and for analysis of cooling systems hydraulic schemes of gas turbines, and the application of advanced fluids and methods of cooling. Research methods and apparatus: fundamental bases of theory of heat and mass transfer, hydrodynamics, numeral methods for analysis of heat conductivity, convection and two phase heat transfer, methods of calculation of the branched hydraulic networks of gas turbines. Theoretical and practical results: complex of the programs and recommendations for creation of the effective systems of cooling for modern and perspective gas turbines at the use of air, moist and overheated water steam, liquid-metal fluids. Novelty: it was developed the methods for analysis of the gas turbines branched cooling systems and prediction of the conjugated hydrodynamic and thermal boundary layer to determine the heat transfer on the end surface of the turbine blade channels; it was theoretically grounded the possibility of using porous elements with liquid-metal coolant for smoothing the shell turbine blades temperature and increasing the efficiency of blade cooling; it was found that for gas turbines complex branched cooling systems steam mass flow rate is approximately half that of air at the same temperature levels of details; it was proved the effectiveness of wet steam for cooling gas turbine blades and grounded the initial dryness of steam. Implementation: the programs and recommendations are in using for designing of the gas turbines cooling systems on State enterprise "Zoria"-"Mashproekt" (Nikolaev) and on others. Sphere of the use: gas turbine industry.
