Object - a process of the balanced development of shipping companies of Ukraine in the global market of sea-born trade. Aim - development of theoretical bases of mechanism of management by efficiency of the balanced functioning of national shipping companies in the global market of sea-born trade. Methods - the theory of market relations; conceptual approaches to the problems of effective transporting maintenance of national economy and export of transporting services; substantive provisions of effective investment activity of enterprises. Novelty - development and ground of row of new theoretical and methodical positions in the complex of scientific problems, that determine methodological bases of forming of economic mechanism of providing of the balanced and effective functioning of shipping companies on the basis of criterion to estimation of principles of choice of parameters of development of national fleet in the global market of sea-born trade. Results - the mechanism of acceptance of decisions on the criteria of adequacy to the external economic relations of country and effective development of shipping companies in the system of competition and marketing strategies during the life cycle of priority sections of the freight market; implemented in activity of shipping companies and educational process of ONMA.
