Kopitsa M. Epistological documents of the Ukrainian musical history: methodology, theory, practice.

Dissertation concerns the research of epistole as a science about correspon-dence and the studying of epistological materials in the context of the musical history of Ukraine. Epistology still remains a Step-daughter in the system of history and art science. Though correspondence is recreated fate-making events, unknown facts from biographies and works of outstanding creators. Research added and classified infor-mation from the history of creation and their works. For the first time in native musicology there is a developed methodology and theory of epistological science, classification of categories, systematization of types of letters, their genre classification. Over 2000 letters of famous leaders of musical culture of Ukraine, Russia, Poland, France, Belgium were introduced. The works of B. Yavorsky, B. Asafiev, M. Grinchenko were analyzed in the system of general source.
