Essay

In the dissertation a difficult and inconsistent process of formation and development of school education in Bulgaria is fully investigated on a wide range of archival materials of Ukraine, Bulgaria and Russia. The period under study covers the time from the September events in 1944 till "palace revolution" in 1989 when scholars of the country had to choose between deep national traditions of their education and the unified approaches of the socialist period. The author analyses the theoretical and practical activities of the Communist Party, the government, local bodies and public organisations concerning the formation of educational space according to the corresponding problems of the social development of the period.
