Essay

The main aim of investigation in this thesis was to divide into periods German flute art in XVIII–XIX centuries and to determine the role of J. J. Quantz, J. G. Tromlitz, A. B. Furstenau and T. Boehm in formation of German flute school. The close connection between the instrument perfection and devel-opment of flute-playing techniques, pedagogies, performance is revealed with the help of pointing out main figures in the history of German flute art. The detailed study of flute treatises and “schools” of the XVIII–XIX centu-ries made it possible to investigate the technology of flute performance process in pointed period and to mark out the main development stages.
