Essay

The thesis is devoted to study of morphological and physiological features of pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect. The aim of the study was to develop, ground and use of the most effective methods of surgical treatment of patients with this anomaly. 166 patients were as material for this study. Diagnostics was based on echocardiography and angiocardiography. 155 (96,3 %) patients underwent of a stage surgical treatment. 6 (3,7 %) patients had primary complete repair and 81 (54,1 %) patients received a multistage complete repair. Among patients with complete repair were 35 (40, 2 %) patients who had conventional transannular RVOT reconstruction, in 25 (28,7 %) cases RVOT monocusp was used and in 27 cases (31,1 %) conduit insertion was accomplished. In the results of the study hospital mortality after PA-VSD repair decreased from 18,4 % to 8,6 % within last 27 years. The evidence-based algorithms of diagnostics and surgical treatment of patients with PA-VSD were developed
