A research object is a process of forming of tekhniс-ekonomical indexes of functioning of hauling rolling stock. The thesis contains theoretical bases and methodological positions for determination of technical and economic indicators of traction rolling stock functioning taking into account life cycle according to service conditions, operating repair and maintenance service systems. On the basis of cycle components classification and estimation, the scientific approach was created which allows substantiating the expediency and profitability of projects for railway machinery updating taking into account possible changes in its condition during this period.
