The thesis aims at creating a holistic concept that reveals the mechanism of modern Ukrainian society criminalization and the essence of crime from the institutionalism point of view as an interdisciplinary methodological theory. The institutional concept of society criminalization has been defined, being based on two interrelated global processes: the criminalization of social institutions and the institutionalization of criminal practices.
