Essay

The object is fiber-optic transmission lines. The goal is the creation of a methodology to ensure the reliability of fiber-optic transmission lines (FOTL). Methods: Usage the theory of transmission lines, the physics of optical communications, the theory of materials elasticity, differential calculus, Fourier transform apparatus, digital modeling techniques, the theory probability methods, mathematical statistics. Theoretical and practical results: 1. For the first time, new components of an integrated approach to ensure the reliability of fiber-optic transmission lines were developed, namely: - for implementation of high-quality fiber optic cables (FOC) developed the theory of designing cables - for the first time the theory of forced evaluation of the technical condition (FETC) elements of FOTL and the lines in overall was developed, based on: the forced tests (FT), scale tests (ST), and forced test-ing, combined with the method of mathematical prediction of the trend of the controlled parameter models - the theory and prac-tice of estimating and projecting the reliability FOTL were developed - provisions were designed to minimize the risk of FOTL in-jury and reliability at its design, construction and operation. 2. The practical significance of the results is that: - improved and de-veloped the theory of engineering FOC has allowed the first in Ukraine to create a number of constructions of cables for different operating conditions (in the air on poles, in cable ducts, under ground and water) - a referral of prototypes of new design FOTL elements to mass production, on the example of the wok, received the practical value the proposed theory of forced testing, which should be enabled expeditiously to determine the impact of external influencing factors (EIF) on the degradation processes investi-gated the FOC, and based on more reasonable to choose the materials and design of components that provide the high quality and the reliability of the cable, avoiding unnecessary material costs - obtained in the work the mathematical models of predicting trend of the FOTL controlled parameter or its elements contribute to the rapid assessment of their technical state with considerable re-duction of material costs for the test - a developed method and methodology of calculation and design of FOTL reliability give an opportunity to provide high reliability and minimum risk of damage to elements or lines in general. The introduction and imple-mentation of the results of the scientific work: 1. The significance of the dissertation, a significant contribution to its results con-firmed the introduction of: - the theory of FOC constructing in the Ministry of Machine Industry of Ukraine due to the production base of JSC "Odeskabel" with a FOC capacity of up to 5 km a year, of jast one modular construction - the theory of FETC FOC three statutory instrument of All-Russia Scientific Research institute of cable industry (Moscow) and the test base ONAT named after A. S. Popov - the methodology of calculation and design of FOTL reliability in "Ukrtelecom" - during research connecting optic lines in Kiev and development recommendations to increase their lifetime. 2. The values that made the author of develop-ments in cable technology for designing highly FOC explained the complete lack of domestic research institutions of cable indus-try. Based on the introduction of these developments in the production of JSC "Odeskabel" only, for example, in 2000 has pro-vided a profit of 1,496,860 U.S. dollars, but by "Ukrtelecom" during the construction of only one FOTL "Dnepr-Donbass ", for the purchase set of FOC domestic producers, resulting in savings was 1338524 U.S. dollars. Domestic production of FOC provides not only for the country and several foreign countries, but also solves some of the social issues related to domestic support, saving hard currency and an increase in employment in the country. 3. Results of studies related to the problem of ensuring high reliabil-ity of FOTL and its elements became part of the 15 scientific and technical reports of series of research papers, five technical condi-tions on the FOC, and three regulatory documents on the methods for FTE, fiber-optic cables are used in teaching process in ONAT.
