Denisova T. Criminal punishment realization of its functions.

A range of problems of theoretical and practical nature dealing with punishment and its application were elucidated in the thesis. Solution of such problems requires an interdisciplinary approach, and thus the focus of the research was made on criminal, criminological and criminal-executive aspects of punishment. The genesis of the institution of punishment was studied; It was constateted, that criminal punishment is the original phenomenon which systematizes philosophical, legal and socialpsychological aspects. On the authority of such understanding was determined that in the basis of the phenomenon of punishment is fixed its dual nature. Punishment foresees recompense and retaliatory measure for a committed crime punishment, also it foresees correction of convict, prevention his further offenses and social renewal of his personality.
