Object: herpetic keratitis. Purpose: To increase the efficacy of the patient's with recurrent herpetic keratitis treatment by improved diagnostic methods, medical and surgical treatment, recurrent prevention by revealing new pathogenetic links of the disease (hemodynamics of the eye and brain, immunoreactivity, corneal regeneration, proteinase activity of lacrimal fluid). Methods: visometry, biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, reoophthalmography, reoencephalography, light and electronic microscopy, immunological, biochemical. Equipment: microscope, electron microscope, reograph. For the first time the eye and brain hemodynamics disturbances were revealed in patients with herpetic keratitis. It was revealed the corellation between the degree of inflammatory process severity and lacrimal proteinase system disturbance. Scientific concepts concerning a condition of an immune reactivity of the organism and sensitivity to virus herpes simplex are expanded at primary, is frequent and rare recurrent herpetic keratitis. The experimental model of primary superficial and recurrent stromal herpetic keratitis were worked out. New methods of herpetic keratitis diagnostics are developed. The algorithm of diagnostics and treatment of herpetic keratitis are worked out.
