This thesis is devoted to the analysis of theoretical and methodical, organizational and legal matters of consolidation and realization of administrative and legal status of Ukrainian state tax service's chief. The notion and essence of the state tax service's system are defined; its organizational structure and functions are analyzed. Methods, principles and forms of management within the state tax service of Ukraine are characterized; their classification is offered. The notion "chief" within the system of state tax service is formulated; the number of requirements for this position is fixed.
