Scientifically based indications for surgical treatment of infective endocarditis prosthetic heart valves (IE PHV). A complex of therapeutic measures in surgical patients with IE, aimed at reducing hospital mortality and the frequency of relapses. Identified risk factors for hospital mortality in the surgical treatment of IE PHV. Development of a protocol of intra-operative management and introduction into clinical practice new methods of surgical treatment of IE have reduced the PHV-hospital mortality from 39.1% (1990-2001.) to 10.6% (2002-2009)
