Multy-paradigmal approach introduced in this research allowed to additionally employing inclusion notional and associative analysis, which highlighted the way native speakers of the contrasted languages conceptualize representations of оrientational reference in their typical and specific features. Deictic and anaphoric type of referential language units is more common for English. For the other contrasted languages bifunctionalism and semantic reversibility are common. Ассording to the typological criteria, the contrasted systems of orientational reference representation are subdivided into: 1) systems with well developed parts-of-speech homonymy relations, polysemy, polyfunctionalism as a result of an insufficient degree of flexion and suffixation development in word formation (the English language); 2) systems with moderately developed parts-of-speech homonymy relations, polysemy, polyfunctionalism (Ukrainian and Russian).
