Essay

Thesis is devoted to search of new approaches for polymethine dyes constructing and for their color control that has been realized in several directions. A number of dioxaborine dyes derived from pyranone and pyridone have been synthesized. It was shown that the modification of borodipyrromethene nuclei at meso-position by polymethine chromophore results in formation of deeply colored derivatives. The stable long-wavelenght xanthylocyanines were synthesized. The bases of polymethines and merocyanines derived from 8-hydroxyquinoline were proved to be effective metallochromic dyes.
