Object of investigation: processes of rock fabric and material transformations during catagenesis; objectives of studies: sedimentary-rock complexes in whole, Cretaceous deposits of Karkinite-Northern Crimean depression and Devonian deposits of Predobrogean depression in particular; methods of investigation: mineralogy-petrographical, lithology-facial, sedimentology-paleooceanographical, history-lithogenetical; practical value: proposed methods of catagenetic history reconstructions allow to elucidate stages of rock fabric and material transformations, the latter make it possible to prognosis regional, zonal and local areas of reservoir rocks formation in Cretaceous deposits of Karkinite-Northern Crimean depression and Devonian deposits of Predobrogean depression; scientific novelty: the fluidodynamic conception of catagenesis is created, that grounds the cyclic nature of catagenesis according to stages of sedimentary-rock basins tectonic and fluidodynamic regimes, for the first time in exfiltration catagenesis passive and active substages were distinguished, these substages regular interchange determine processes of rock fabric and material transformations, hydrocarbon reservoir rocks formation; spheres of using: lithology of sedimentary strata.
