The object of study - the processes of development of small business in the agricultural regions and Ukraine. The purpose of research - development and justification of the theoretical and methodological bases and practical recommendations to improve the development of small businesses in agriculture and increase the profitability of its subjects. Research methods - dialectical, abstract logical, systematic approach, Economics and Statistics; sociometric, cognitive modeling, calculation and constructive; monographic. Theoretical and practical results-based scientific-methodological and practical bases of small businesses in agriculture and the direction of its development, which is the basis for a profitable and competitive production of agricultural products, the introduction of scientific results into production. Investigated various theoretical and practical approaches to the definition of a small business, consider its role and place in the economy, trends and government regulation in foreign countries. The necessity of a certain institutional conditions underlying the advantages of small business and its classification in agriculture, the main directions of development of small business in the agricultural sector. Production program is designed to create a family livestock farm. Developed differentiation of agriculture over the size of a business entity and reasonable quantitative and qualitative criteria of the organizational and legal forms of management to small business. The novelty consists in the theoretical and scientific basis of approaches to system development challenges of small business in a transformational change in agriculture.
