Essay

The dissertation provides an analysis of the textual structure of French romantic mythopoetic literature of the 1820s. The main subjects of the research are peculiarities of intertextuality and functioning of biblical and ancient archetypes, as well as traditional mythological symbolism. Poetry of the French romanticists A. de Vigny, A. de Lamartine, V. Hugo, Ch. A. Sainte-Beuve, G. de Herval, A. de Musset, A. Bertrand and the short stories by Ch. Nodier are studied within the frame of the intertextual approach. The first chapter focuses on the strategic features of assimilation of the antique mythopoetic symbolism in the poetry of the 1810-1820s (A. de Lamartin's poems "Sym?ta", "La Dryade", "Le Somnambule", "Le bain d'une dame romaine" and A. de Vigny's introvert poems "La Prison", "Le Cor"). In the second chapter the symbolic structure of early meditative poetry ("M?ditations po?tiques" of Alfonse de Lamartine) is studied. The subject of the third chapter is biblical intertextuality and its mythopoetic elements in the French poetry of the 1820s. The fourth and fifth chapters describe the mythopoetic dominants of Charles Nodier's early oniric short novels ("Smarra", "La F?e aux miettes", "L'amour et la magie"). The conclusions summarize the main parameters of the mythopoetic romantic text in the French literature of the 1820s.
