Modern Ukrainian historiography (late 1980s-2011) of the Ukrainian state power-building in the context of national traditions which are interpreted according to the permanent complexes, which were historically formed in the emergence and development of Ukrainian state power-building, its centuries-old struggle for national liberation, freedom and independence, the integrity and unity of Ukraine. Historians and state scientists explore the mental, psychological, ideological, cultural, spiritual and other features of the Ukrainian national liberation movement and state building. The restoration of Ukrainian state independence and the building of the independent state are interpreted as the embodiment of national-statist traditions which were based in the princely and Cossack-hetman's times. This fact was enriched in the period of Ukrainian revolution of 1917-1921.
