Andreev V. Viktor Petrov: intellectual biography.

The dissertation is devoted to the reconstruction of intellectual biography of prominent Ukrainian universal scientist, science organizer, writer and thinker V. Petrov (1894–1969). V. Petrov is the most known in the modern Ukrainian intellectual community as philosopher and soviet special service agent. However, V. Petrov is known much less as organizer of science, historian, archaeologist, ethnographer, specialist in folklore, historian of philosophy, literature, author of an original historical theory and special conception of Slavs and Ukrainians origin. Mainly he was ununderstanded. The Ukrainian historical science still is not determined the role of intellectual person in historiography process of the XX-th century. On the base of an analysis of historiography of the problem, wide circle of published and unpublished sources, the great part of which is firstly given to the scientific circulation, is proved the necessity and possibility of the realization of complex investigation of the biography and creative heritage of V. Petrov. Author of the dissertation on the basis of generalized theoretical and practical experience of western, Russian and Ukrainian biographistic is proved that the most appropriate for the realization of tasks of this investigation is the intellectual biography model. Moreover, the author has added the theoretical constituents of intellectual biography study by own working out – “the first/second stage investigator conception”. This approach to the study of personal hierarchy of scientific community provides for a few procedures: 1) the determination of specific features of the participation of scholar in researcher discursion; 2) the clarification of the real concordance of the selected problems and the main direction of modern science; 3) the determination of the level of recognition of creative achievements of an investigator by scientific community; 4) the description of a personal portrait of an investigator and reconstruction of his psychophysiological features. The complex solution of these tasks gives the possibility to determine the position of certain investigator in the structure of scientific community which has appeared in the limits of certain historical epoch. The specific character of the intellectual biography of V. Petrov consists in the great difference of positions of this investigator form highest stages of scientific hierarchy to the role of “forgotten” investigator during his life.
