Object - transient electromagnetic processes. Aim - development of the theory of non-stationary processes in open resonant and waveguiding structures with simple geometry. Methods - theory of functions of complex variables, mathematical physics, numerical analysis. Results -the transformation of the electromagnetic field in a bounded dielectric and plasma due to time change of the refractive index has been studied; the reaction of the resonant and waveguide modes on time variation of the medium properties has been revealed; the pulse excitation of dielectric, plasma and metamaterial cylindrical structures has been investigated. Implementation - in scientific research projects at KhNURE and international projects in frameworks of international cooperation between KhNURE and its foreign partners (the University of Nottingham (England) and the University of Jena (Germany)). Applications - fabrication and simulation of sensors, dynamically controlled filters and antennas, frequency converters, switchers
