Essay

The thesis deals with an engineering and justification of the new design method for industrial high-rise structures with metal frame, such as venting towers, cooling towers, elevated water tanks, chimneys. The problem of design of guaranteed durability high-rise structures is solved with due account of fundamental correlation of the designing and operational stages. The mathematical simulation of various types of wear in the framework of generalized wear concept has been made. Qualitative and quantitative characteristics of change effect of structural parameters on their bearing capacity and have been measured. The experimental studies of chimneys joints have been investigated and correction factors system for strength analyses has been derived. For the first time, the mathematical models of servicing strategies in units of thickness, stress and mass have been taken. The analysis of servicing and maintenance strategies for different structures with reinforcement and repair has been made. The principles and algorithms of analysis and design of high-rise structures with regard to servicing and maintenance requirements to provide specified life-time have been offered.
